Ploughing punters hoping for a bite to eat at Tullamore's two drive-thru restaurants are being left disappointed with both closed during the huge event.

Burger King at Cloncollig closed permanently last month with little warning to customers. A sign was placed on a barrier at the site, signalling the restaurant is 'permanently closed'.

The Drive-Thru part of the building was also blocked with tape.

McDonalds in Tullamore is temporarily closed and won't re-open until the middle of October.

The mega fast food franchise is carrying out major renovations to its drive-thru lane along with external and internal modifications at Church Road.

Alterations to the kitchen and dining are underway and new fire doors, new freezer/chiller area with an extension to provide a new dry store within the existing corral is being fitted.
