Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Dublin.
Emergency services responded to the incident in Fairview Park near Annesley Bridge shortly after 6pm on Wednesday.
A man, aged in his 50s, was brought to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out and gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact them.
