Seriously injured cyclist rushed to hospital in Dublin after collision with car

A cyclist in his 60s has been transported to a hospital in Dublin following a serious collision with a car. 

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision involving a car and a cyclist on the R125 at Phepotstown, Kilcock, Co Kildare (on the border of Co Meath) shortly after 12 noon on Sunday.

The cyclist was transported from the scene by ambulance to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown with serious injuries.
The occupants of the car did not require immediate medical attention. 
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local traffic diversions are in place.
 
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Additionally, road users who may have been traveling on the R125 between Dunbyone and Kilcock at the time, and possess camera footage (including dash-cam), are requested to provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
