A man in his 80s has died after being struck by a car in Co Louth.
The collision occurred at Annagassan, Lynns, on Tuesday at about 7.55pm.
The body of the male pedestrian was taken from the scene to the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.
The scene of the collision on the R166 from Castlebellingham to Annagassan Road remained closed on Wednesday morning pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardai have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
They are also keen to access footage captured by dashcams on vehicles travelling in the Annagassan area between 7.30pm and 8.00pm.
